Discography

Pitchfork Abortion finished their first recording in the summer of 2002 and since then have finished two more eight song lp's. The first compilation was recorded using analog to digital converters and edited and mixed with Sonic Foundry's Vegas 2.0 program. Despite the digital gear the disc came out sounding quite analog. (aka) old school. As with the debut disc the second effort was written by Jeff Caro and Scott Taylor and mixed and edited by Scott Taylor. The second effort was longer with more refined songs and a more confident writing style. The second cd was recorded also using a newer version of Vegas (5.0) . And mixed over the course of about a year. In that year the band went through member changes and the bass parts were re-recorded by Scott Taylor. The second disc was the most labor intensive and over mixed of Pitchfork Abortion's work to date, with many layers of guitar tracks using both a Less Paul and Scott's standard Yamaha. The second cd was also the defining recording for Scott's vocals with a few years of experience his vocals reached their peak (though some have said that the multiple layers detracted from the music the over all vision was followed through to an interesting and original compilation. This was also to be Scott's last lead vocal recording due to the onset of acid reflux. Pitchfork Abortion took a break from live performance for a couple years to focus on restructuring the band and reappeared in 2007 with the release of their third demo lp (as yet untitled). With the release of the third demo came the introduction of the new vocalist Justin Cox. With the addition of Justin Cox the band attained a new dinamic and thus a sound the has taken the best of the old and blended it with a new and fresh tone. Since the release of the third demo Pitchfork Abortion re-emerged on the Portland/Vancouver scene with a renewed vigour and a confident sence of creative direction .
